Winter Wonderland - #26 No Christmas Stamp or Papers

It was brilliant seeing all your 'St Nicholas' projects last week. There are so many amazing stamps and images of him out there and it was a pleasure visiting all your blogs :o)

This week we would like you to create a project, but not use any Christmas papers or Christmas stamps. Instead we would like you to use other stamps and/or papers that you have on hand and make them festive in some way. You can also still use your christmas dies, embossing folders and templates if you wish :o)

Christine joins us again this week as out Guest DT, so hop over to her blog and see what she made for us this time.

I made two cards for my DT projects this week. The first one, I like a lot :o) Simple black and white can look so gorgeous and I think the Lovely As A Tree stamp set can be used very effectively for Christmas projects. I stamped the image in Basic Grey and then highlighted it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I created the sentiment on my PC.

My second card used the larger tree stamp from the same set and I used Old Olive to stamp around the side and top of the card ..... hopefully creating the look of the bottom of a Christmas tree :o) I have seen this technique used quite a few times and I really like the look they got. I then used Circle Circus to create the 'baubles'. I punched these out initially, but didn't like the border around the embossing, so I trimmed around each of them. I cheated a little on this one by using a Christmas sentiment stamp .... I wanted the sentiment to be on the actual base card and not raised, so had to compromise :o)

All products listed are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated.

Cardstock ......... Whisper White, Basic Black, Real Red, Old Olive
Ink ............... Basic Grey Old Olive
Stamp Set ......... Lovely As A Tree, Circle Circus, Best Yet (Retired)
Punches ........... Word Window, Modern Label (USA/Canada only), Ticket Corner (USA/Canada only)
Other Products .... Antique Brads, Gold Elastic Cord, Gold Embossing Powder, Dazzling Diamonds
Non SU Products ... Base Cards, Black Grosgrain (from stash)

Don't forget to check out the other DT's fabulous creations this week!

Gorgeous cards Teri! I literally squealed when I saw your baubles card because that's the best use of that stamp I've seen yet!! Why didn't I think of that - may just have to nick that idea for colleague cards!! Fabulous - and the winter scene takes your breath!

Hi Teri two awesome projects. I adore the classic black and white wintery scene. The second card is AMAZING!!! I love how you pierced holes so they truly look like they are hanging off the tree.
